Snowmobile Grooming Report
Updated almost daily during the season
(except for days I'm out snowmobiling.)

In 2003 SnoWest Magazine listed McCall as one of the top 10 places to snowmobile in the Northwest. We have nearly 1,000 miles of groomed trails providing access to thousands of acres of off-trail riding in Valley, Adams and Idaho Counties. Riders of all abilities can find open play areas offering gentle slopes as well as challenging hillsides to tempt even the most adventurous of the "high-markers".

The 39 mile ride to Warren and points beyond is very popular as an overnight adventure especially when coupled with a stop at Burgdorf Hot Springs. Limited winter lodging is available at Burgdorf, Secesh and Warren. Make reservations! Gas and food are also available at Secesh and Warren. Rental sleds are available from Cheap Thrills Rentals in McCall.

Trail parking is available at the Francis Wallace Parking lot on Warren Wagon Road. Make sure you designate Area 43-A when you purchase your Idaho Snowmobile Registration. Monies generated by the $21.50 fee paid with each snowmobile registered in this area pays for the rent of the parking area, plowing and grooming of the trail to Warren Summit. Thank you snowmobilers! The parking lot and trails are shared with cross country skiers and dog sledders. Please respect other users. There is a donation box on the restroom.

There are several areas designated as non-motorized on the way to Warren, most notably the area from Squaw Point to Josephine Lake. While popular with snowmobilers in the past, these areas are no longer available to the motorized user. The Payette National Forest Travel Plan does come up for review soon. That is the time and place to make your feelings known. Roughly 1/3 of the Payette is currently non-motorized. There is plenty of room for all users.

Don't miss the Crab Feed the first Saturday in March or the races. I don't have any Crab Feed pictures, sorry, too busy eating crab... A good time was had by all.

Email me if you have questions on snowmobiling in the area.
